Risk warning and terms of use
Version 3, 11 October 2026. AutoScanTrade and AutoScanTrade Lite are sold by Transpeed Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 12922090, registered office 3 Highsted Road, Kirby, Liverpool, L33 1AX, United Kingdom. In these terms, "we" and "us" means Transpeed Ltd, and "you" means the person using the software.
Please read this page before you buy or use AutoScanTrade. The software asks you to agree to the main points before it opens.
1. Trading is risky
Trading stocks is risky, and most people who day trade lose money. You can lose some or all of the money in your trading account, and in some cases more than that:
- Short selling. A stock you are short can keep rising, so the loss has no fixed limit.
- Margin. Margin multiplies both gains and losses.
- Small, fast-moving stocks. These are what AutoScanTrade's scanner looks for. They can move very fast, halt, gap past your price or become hard to sell.
- Premarket and after-hours. These sessions have fewer buyers and sellers and wider spreads.
Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
2. No guarantee of results
AutoScanTrade does not guarantee profits, and it does not guarantee that any trade will win.
- A scanner alert is not a recommendation. It means that a stock matched filters you chose.
- The software does not know whether a stock will go up or down.
- Results from the past do not tell you what will happen next. That includes your own results, paper results, replays and anything shown in our videos.
3. Paper trading is not live trading
Paper mode fills orders by simulation: from the last price the software saw, with no queue, no partial fills, no rejections and no locate costs. Live fills are decided by the market and will differ. Simulated results have limits that real results do not. Good paper results do not mean you will get good live results.
4. Keep your broker's own trading platform open
AutoScanTrade is a trading assistant. It does not replace your broker's own platform (web, desktop or phone app). Whenever AutoScanTrade is connected to a live account:
- Keep your broker's own platform open and signed in. Treat it as the true record of what you hold and which orders are working.
- If anything looks wrong, use your broker's platform to check, cancel or close. That includes the software freezing, the connection dropping, a position or order that does not match, or data that stops moving.
- At the end of every session, check in your broker's platform that you hold only what you expect, and that no orders are left open by mistake.
The software talks to your broker through an API key. If the key expires or is withdrawn, if the broker limits it, or if the broker's API is down or changes, then orders may fail to send or fail to cancel. The software may also show positions or orders that do not match your account.
5. Your stops are software stops
These exits are software stops:
- take profit, stop loss and trailing stop;
- in the full desk, also hard stop, volume-fade exit and LULD escape.
They live in the program on your computer. They are not orders resting at your broker. They only work while all of these are true:
- the program is running;
- your computer is awake;
- your internet and your broker's API are connected;
- market data is arriving.
When one is triggered, the software sends an order at that moment. A stop is not a guaranteed price. Exits go out as limit orders priced a set amount past the market (your exit offset), so that they fill. How they fill depends on the market:
- Price moves past the offset, or nobody is buying (or selling). The order can fill only in part, or not at all, until the software re-prices it.
- Fast markets and premarket. Your fill can be well past your level.
- A halt. Nothing fills at all until trading resumes, and the stock can reopen far from your level.
If you need protection that still works when the software or your computer is off, place that order at your broker yourself, using your broker's own platform.
6. The figures on screen are approximate
Take profit, stop loss, projected win or loss, costs and fees are worked out from the last price the software saw and from a fee schedule you can edit. Your real result is decided by the market and by your broker's charges. Check your broker's statements; they are the true record.
7. Automated trading (full desk only)
The full desk can open and close trades by itself, using rules you set. In LIVE mode those are real orders on your real account. The software does not ask you about each trade first.
- Run new rules in PAPER first, and watch them, before you use them in LIVE.
- Never leave the desk trading LIVE unattended. Someone must be watching it and your broker's platform.
- The daily loss cap, trade cap and loss-streak pause stop new automated entries. They do not close positions you already hold, and they are software too.
- There is no watchdog program. If AutoScanTrade freezes, crashes, loses its connection or is closed while you hold a position, nothing else will notice or close it for you.
8. Not financial advice, and not a broker
- We do not give financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Nothing in the software, on this website, in our videos or in our emails is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
- We are not a broker. We do not hold your money, we do not hold your positions and we do not place trades for you. Every order goes from the software on your computer straight to your own broker account.
9. Your broker, your data plan, your account
To trade, you need two accounts, each opened and paid for by you:
- A broker account that offers an API. You need its API keys. The account is yours, and so are its rules, minimum balance, fees, margin, short-locate charges and day-trading rules, such as the US pattern day trader rule.
- A market data plan for the scanner. At present this is Alpaca's Algo Trader Plus, $99 a month, which you pay to Alpaca.
Our price does not include these charges, and we are not responsible for them.
Check yourself that you are allowed to use your broker's API with third-party software. Also check that you are allowed to trade these markets where you live, and what tax you owe.
10. Market data, charts and your computer's clock
- Data. Prices, volume, news, filings and float figures come from outside sources: your data plan, the US SEC and others. They can be late, wrong or missing, and the software can only act on what it receives.
- Charts. The chart is drawn with TradingView's Lightweight Charts library, an open-source component. TradingView does not supply the data and does not endorse it.
- Clock. The software works out the US trading session from your computer's clock and time zone. If either is wrong, everything worked out from it is wrong too. Keep Windows' clock set automatically.
11. Your keys and your information
- Your keys stay on your computer. The software keeps your broker and data API keys on your own computer and uses them only to talk to your broker and your data provider. We do not receive them.
- Keep them private. Do not share your keys or your computer.
- Change them if they leak. If you think your keys have been seen by someone else, cancel them at your broker straight away.
What we keep about you, and what we do not:
- What we keep. Only what we need to sell and license the software: your email address, your licence, the computers it is activated on (as anonymous IDs) and whether your subscription is paid.
- Your payment card. It is handled by our payment provider. We never see the card number.
- What never reaches us. Your trades, orders, positions, settings, journal and API keys stay on your computer. The software does not send them to us.
- No selling. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
The details are in our privacy notice (coming before launch).
12. The software, updates and support
- Your licence. You get a personal licence to use the software while your subscription is paid, under our licence terms (coming before launch).
- Faults and changes. We work to fix faults and keep the software working with the brokers it supports. We cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, or that a broker will not change its API.
- Updates. Install them when we release them.
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, AND EXCEPT FOR THE RIGHTS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 16, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT ANY OTHER WARRANTY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
13. Your subscription: free trial, cancelling and refunds
- Monthly, renewing automatically. AutoScanTrade is a monthly subscription, or yearly if you choose a yearly plan. It renews automatically on the same date each period until you cancel.
- Free trial. If your plan starts with a free trial, nothing is charged during the trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing. If you do not cancel, your paid subscription starts when the trial ends and the first payment is taken then.
- Cancel any time. You can cancel in your account page in a few clicks. No phone call or email is needed.
- No refunds. Payments are not refundable. When you cancel, no further payments are taken, and you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that the software stops opening.
- No credits. There are no refunds or credits for part of a period, for a period you did not use, or for a renewal you forgot to cancel.
- Your 14-day right to cancel. The software is digital content that you start to use straight away. So at checkout you ask us to start your subscription immediately, and you confirm that you lose the 14-day right to cancel once it has started.
- Faulty software. None of this affects your rights if the software is faulty or not as described (section 16).
- Price changes. We will tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, so you can cancel first.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will try again and tell you. If it still cannot be taken, your licence stops at the end of the period already paid.
14. Our responsibility to you
- Trading results are yours. We are not responsible for any trading loss or lost profit, or for any
indirect, consequential, incidental, special or punitive loss, however it arises. That includes
losses connected with:
- your trading decisions or market moves;
- your broker, its API, its fills or its outages;
- data providers;
- your internet, computer, power or Windows;
- halts or other market events;
- anything you could have avoided by following sections 4, 5 and 7.
- Our cap. Our total responsibility to you for anything else connected with the software or these terms is limited to three times the most recent monthly fee you paid us, or US$250, whichever is greater.
- What nothing here limits:
- our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- our responsibility for fraud;
- anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
15. If you break these terms
- What you must not do:
- share, copy, resell or lend your licence;
- use your licence on more computers than it allows;
- try to get round the licence check;
- take the software apart (reverse engineering, decompiling).
- What we can do. If you break these terms, we may suspend or end your licence, with no refund.
- Our costs. You agree to cover our losses and costs, including reasonable legal costs, from any claim made against us because you broke these terms or the law.
16. Your legal rights
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to digital content that is faulty or not as described. In the UK these are under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Advice about your legal rights is available from Citizens Advice. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
17. The law that applies
- Our home law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute.
- Consumers in other countries. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
- Customers in the United States. If you live in the United States, any dispute will be settled by binding individual arbitration and not in court. You give up the right to a jury trial and to take part in a class action or class arbitration.
18. Agreeing to these terms, and changes
- When you agree. You agree to these terms when you tick the boxes at checkout and again in the software before it opens.
- What we record. We keep a record of which version you agreed to and when.
- Changes. If we change these terms in a way that matters, the software will ask you to agree to the new version before it opens again. You can cancel your subscription instead.
19. Copyright
- Who owns it. The AutoScanTrade software (full desk and Lite), this website, and its text, screenshots and videos are protected by copyright. They belong to Transpeed Ltd. © 2026 Transpeed Ltd. All rights reserved.
- Licensed, not sold. You buy a licence to use the software under these terms, not the software itself.
- Without our written permission, you may not:
- copy, share, resell or publish the software, the website or the videos;
- take the software apart (reverse engineering, decompiling);
- remove these notices.
- What happens if you do. Copying or sharing without permission infringes our copyright. It may lead to your licence being ended without refund, and to legal action.
