One stock, one budget
Per-stock brakes stop a single stock from taking over your session. A stock that keeps triggering your rules, and keeps failing, is exactly what they catch.
Sym max per session
Sym max per session is the most automatic entries on one stock per session. It resets at the after-hours fresh start, and the next day. Zero is off. Each automatic entry on that stock counts towards the limit.
Sym loss dollars
Sym loss dollars: once one stock has cost this much, realized, in the session, no more automatic entries are taken on it. Zero is off. It counts realised loss only, so an open position is not in the total. Sym loss counts only within the session, so each new session starts from zero.
Max pos and cooldown
Two more brakes live at the top of each side: Max pos, how many positions that side may hold at once, and Cooldown, the seconds before the same stock may be entered again. Max pos caps open positions, and cooldown caps re-entries on the same stock.
Per side
Each side has its own brakes, so your long rules and your short rules each keep their own budget. They are saved with the profile, like every other setting. And like every gate, a refusal is written in the order log, with the reason. Check the brake values before the session starts, not during it. Use paper to see how often a brake fires before you set it live.
In practice
A stock that has stopped you out twice is often telling you something. The brakes let you decide that once, before the session, instead of in the moment, while the scanner keeps you supplied with fresh names.
