Hear the desk work

When you are watching several screens, sound tells you what happened before you look. Every important event on the desk can have its own sound, or none. Set the events you need, and leave the rest silent.

The events

A new stock hits the scanner, a new high, a trade executed, a winning exit and a losing exit, an order error, a risk alarm, and breaking news hitting a stock, plus a buy signal and a sell signal on a chart, and a chart turning against a stock you hold.

Exits and news

A losing exit can have its own sound, so you hear it without reading the log. A new high is its own event, separate from a scanner hit. Headlines come from the news stream on your data key. Order errors can have a sound of their own; the log shows every refusal.

The voices

Each one can use its own voice: loud bell, klaxon and air horn are full scale, longer, and audible from another room; or classic beeps, a soft chime, an arcade blip, a double ping, or a deep tone. Main style follows the main sound setting.

Choosing a voice

Give the loudest voices to the events you must not miss. Try each voice with TEST before you choose it.

On, off, test

Tick or untick an event to switch it on or off, and press TEST to hear it.

Main voice and volume

In the full desk, the main sound and its volume, up to one hundred and fifty percent, sit in the AUTO/BOT window, with SOUNDS opening this per-event window. Start with the main voice, then give each event its own.

In Lite

In Lite, a SOUNDS button sits on the WINDOWS row, so the same settings are always within reach.
