Realized net
REALIZED NET in the header is today's closed profit or loss, after costs, for the mode the desk is in: paper while paper trading is on, live when orders go to your broker. Under it: the gross result, the costs, and today's trade count. The other mode is never mixed in. JOURNAL shows each mode on its own.
Open result
OPEN, on the right of the header, is the profit or loss on the positions still open, measured from the last price the desk has seen. Realized net counts only closed trades, so open trades are kept out of it. Add the two, and you have the day so far.
The OPEN window
The OPEN window lists your open positions: the symbol, the side, the shares, the entry and the last price, the stop-loss and take-profit trigger prices, and the result in dollars and percent. Double-click a row to close that position.
The CLOSED window
The CLOSED window lists the session's closed trades, newest first. Time, symbol, side and shares, then the entry and the exit prices, the gross, the costs, the net and the net percent, the session, the profile, and the reason it closed: your own close, the take profit, the stop loss, or the trailing stop. Open positions stay in the OPEN window until they close.
Costs included
Costs are the commissions, fees and locate costs, worked out from the commission schedule you keep in the BROKER window. So the net you see is the net after the costs you entered. Net % shows the net as a percentage.
Every fill, live
And EXECUTIONS, beside the order log, shows every fill as it happens, with the profile, the source and the exit reason.
