Filters decide what you see

The filters row sits just under the header. It decides which stocks reach the scanner and the top gappers list, and so which ones you see, and can trade. So it is worth knowing exactly what each box does.

Window: how far back it looks

Window is the stretch of time the scanner measures volume, relative volume and the price run over. You can pick whole candles of thirty seconds, one, five or ten minutes, rolling windows from one minute up to an hour, or the whole session. A shorter window reacts faster, but reads noisier.

Price band and gap

Price sets the band you trade: stocks below the first price, or above the second, are ignored. Min gap is how far above yesterday's close a stock must trade to enter the scanner. Zero means no gap floor at all: more stocks, and more noise.

Volume and relative volume

Min vol K is the volume traded in your window, in thousands of shares. Min RVOL compares that window with the normal volume for that time of day. Two means twice normal. It can read very high after a halt or a split. Min RVOL day is a floor on today's pace against a normal day. It filters out quiet stocks that spike for a single minute.

Scans per second

Scans per second is how often the market-data screener is asked for new movers. Higher finds a mover sooner, and uses more of your data plan. Set it too high for your plan and the provider stops answering, which makes the scanner blind, not faster. It is one value for the whole desk.

Saved per session

The values you type are saved into the session set you are looking at: premarket, market hours or after hours. So each part of the day can keep its own rules.
