The top gappers

The GAPPERS window lists the biggest gappers that pass the same filters as the scanner, sorted by gap, with the biggest first. It opens from the WINDOWS row, in its own resizable window, so you can put it on a second monitor.

What it shows

For each stock: the gap, the symbol, the price and today's volume, the float estimate, with its age, relative volume for the day, and for the last five minutes, the change on the close, and any locates you hold.

Arm from the list

Double-click a row to arm it, exactly like the scanner. The trading panel, the ladder and the chart follow it straight away. And if you hold locates, you can see at once which leaders you are ready to short.

Use it before the open, to see which gappers pass your filters, then double-click one to arm it, and the trading panel, the ladder and the chart follow it.

Two views, one market

Together with the scanner, it gives you two views of the same market: what is happening right now, and who is leading the day.

In practice

Many traders start the premarket here: which stocks have the biggest gaps, how much volume is behind them, and whether the float is small enough to move fast. Then the scanner tells you which of them is moving right now.

Watch the order change

Through the session, the order of this list changes as stocks fade and others take over. A stock climbing the list is gaining on the leaders; one falling away is losing interest. That is information you can read at a glance.

Like every list on the desk, the window can be resized and moved, and its place is saved with your layout.
