AutoScanTrade Lite
Lite is the same desk with the automation taken out. The same scanner, the same chart, the same ladder, the same manual trading with its stops and targets — running on the same engine, from the same program. What it does not do is trade without you.
What is the same
Everything you look at and everything you press. Lite is not a cut-down version of the desk — it is the desk, with one group of features switched off.
| In Lite | What you get |
|---|---|
| The scanner | Every filter, every session set, every column and every alert type. Including the float estimate and its age, the news and SEC filings feed, and halt and limit handling. |
| Gappers, watchlist, new highs, news | All four windows, unchanged. |
| The trading panel | BUY, SHORT, sell, cover, sell half, FLATTEN ALL, cancel — limit or market on every one, with the order-size modes and the whole hotkey set. |
| Locates | The locates window, borrow status and locate prices for short selling. |
| Exits | Take profit, stop loss, their units, trailing stops with width and step, and the per-side auto exit — all on the same engine the full desk uses. |
| Ladder and chart | The trade ladder with entry, stop, target and trail, and the chart with its indicators and levels. |
| Risk controls | The risk governor, the daily loss limit and the trade limits. |
| Paper mode | Full paper trading, so you can practise before you risk anything. |
| The order log | What was sent, what the broker said, what filled, what was refused, what exited — plus halts, locates, risk and news. |
The MANUAL TRADING window holds every setting a manual BUY or SHORT uses: take profit, stop loss and their units, the per-side auto exit, the trailing stop with its width and step, and how the order is placed — entry and exit offsets, fill or kill, track, free entry. Long on the left, short on the right. None of that is held back.
What the full desk adds
One thing, in four places: trading without you.
| Full desk only | What it does |
|---|---|
| AUTO/BOT | The automation window: the entry engines, their rules and filters, and the profiles that hold them. |
| Arming a side | AUTO – LONG and SHORT: letting the desk take entries on its own. |
| The fleet | Running ten profiles at once against the same market. |
| The schedule | Starting a paper session and the fleet on the clock. |
| The journal | Reading your closed trades back: the day, the calendar, the costs, the notes. |
| ANALYSE | Every profile ranked by what it actually did, across every journal, filtered any way you like. |
The first four are the same feature seen from four angles. The last two are how you review it afterwards.
What you see instead
The automation controls are not drawn in Lite. AUTO/BOT is not on the windows row; SCHED and FLEET are not in the header. There is no tick to hunt for and nothing greyed that looks like it might work if you tried harder.
JOURNAL and ANALYSE are still on screen, greyed. Rest the mouse on either one and it tells you what the full desk does with it.
The order log shows the order path and the news, which is what it shows by default everywhere. In the full desk you can tick show everything to add the desk's own bookkeeping — calibration, the market sweep, board decisions. Lite does not carry that tick, so the log stays about your orders.
Your trades are still recorded
Every trade Lite makes is written to the journal file, with its costs, exactly as the full desk writes it. The window that reads it back is what the full desk adds.
That matters for two reasons. If you upgrade later, your history is already there — nothing had to be turned on first. And if you ever need help with something, the session export has your trades in it.
One program, not two
Lite and the full desk are the same file. Not a similar file, not a build with parts removed — byte for byte the same program. A small text file beside it, tier.txt, is what says which product you have.
That is deliberate, and it is worth knowing why:
- Lite gets every fix the full desk gets, the day it ships. There is no second version quietly running a year behind.
- Upgrading changes nothing on your computer except which features answer. Your settings, your layout, your watchlist and your journal are already where they need to be.
- The checks are in the program, not in the buttons. Hiding a button would not be a restriction — a hotkey or a saved setup could still reach it. Every restricted feature refuses at the point where it would act.
Moving to the full desk
Nothing is reinstalled and nothing is migrated. The features that are quiet now start answering, your journal opens on a history that was being written all along, and the desk you have learned is the desk you keep.
Take profit, stop loss and trailing stops are managed by the software on your computer, in Lite exactly as in the full desk. They are not resting orders at your broker, and nothing protects a position while the program is closed, the computer is asleep or the data stops arriving. Read more.
